Caps are a fabulous source of unprocessed silk fibre.  They are made by stretching cocoons over a frame.  Lightly felted, this glorious silk can be used as a fabric when stabilised or needle felted for strength.  Pulled apart, single layers of silk can be sourced with ease.  Great for silk paper, to blend with wool and other fibres, spun, felted, needle felted and so much more.

Dye with either Procion dyes or Acid dyes.
